Pucker Powder & Candy Factory

6:58 am April 23rd, 2007

I came across this website yesterday and thought hey what a great idea, especially the Candy Factory.

I haven’t seen the Candy Factory here in the UK but I suspect the Pucker Powder dispenser may be here - I will pay more attention next time I visit the MetroCentre (Mall) in Gateshead becuase I may have seen one there, so watch this space.

So here is the link to the Pucker Powder & Candy Factory site (these guys better be experts in candy because their website is pretty rough around the edges so they won’t get rich designing websites but you get the idea).

I hope the creator makes a ton of cash and makes a ton of customers happy with this interesting idea.

Woman Wants Town To Pay The Bill For Her Broken Tooth

8:42 am April 16th, 2007

USA News - A local woman is seeking financial help from Abington Town Hall to pay her dentist’s bill after she broke a tooth on a Tootsie Roll she took from a candy jar in the town clerk’s office.

The incident took place last month when Joanne Harding went to the town clerk’s office in Abington Town Hall to get a license for her dog.

Harding, who now wants the town to help pay her $4,000-$5,000 dental bill, told the Patriot Ledger of Quincy, “I took the candy, so it’s partially my fault.”

“I wouldn’t have taken it if it wasn’t there,” said the 40-year-old woman.

The request for financial assistance has been forwarded to the town’s insurance carrier.

Town Manager Phillip Warren Jr. says he is waiting to see what the insurance company says.

However, the town’s office has still not replaced the candy jars at the clerk’s office.
